Grrr... I want to play this so bad, but John said the shaders have not been implemented for my graphics card yet.

Eh, this is an old thread, and I don't know why, when we're at alpha 70 something, you'd want to download an alpha from the days of 10s and 20s.

I think what he was asking was if it was really necessary to download the old alphas to get access to the foothold.

I think it would still be possible to use it in the newer releases, I don't think they have changed the implementation of levels or xml files since this released.

jo-shadow even posted a brief how-to in how to get access to the foothold in game.

They have changed the structure of the XML-Files at least once since it was released. In this thread merlin1991 posted conversions of all maps to the new format. But I guess those are mostly part of the alpha-release now. So taylor, maybe you should just try it out and if it doesn't work try one of the more stable releases around alpha 50 (49?) with the new map format.

EDIT: Just found this. Seems to work with a43.

This texture may be in the "fixes - Anton" package in SUM launcher's community content browser. Also i suggest you to download all the fixes that are available there.
