[Character] Frog (playable)
Re: [Character] Frog (playable)
I am working on a big push for SUMLauncher right now, but after that is done, I will work on updating the community browser (unless Steelraven7 comes back and updates it... like he's supposed to :p )

That would be awesome to have all the characters in the community item browser, it's pretty tedious to load them externally one at a time.
BTW, I just uploaded a new version of the Frog character in the original post.

Re: [Character] Frog (playable)
Just uploaded a new version, now with a palette map.

Expect an updated version of the Chameleon soon as well. This process was kind of a pain though, so it might take me just a bit...

I love the clueless expression he always has on his face XD I love playing as this guy, especially now you've fixed how he looks. Great job, the new colours are a great addition.

Thanks alot! I'm glad he's getting some good use.Advance123 wrote:I love the clueless expression he always has on his face XD I love playing as this guy, especially now you've fixed how he looks. Great job, the new colours are a great addition.
Once I get the motivation I think I'm going to start in on some custom animations for him. Eventually there'll be a final version.

How do you make palette maps? I have a goat creature that I made long ago that'd be perfect to put into the game and his fur and eyes are white too

Re: [Character] Frog (playable)
I've been using Sculptris for all my texturing.
So here is the first version of the texture I made.

I then made the texture grayscale in Photoshop and re-imported it back into sculptris.

Looking at the palette maps for other characters, blue, red, and green were used. So I just painted over the grayscale texture with the appropriate colors where they needed to go.

It really helped to have that initial texture made, as it made the shading for everything look really nice.

The palette map is a cool thing to add to an object/character. You can do many things with that thing.
And what i like to add is that the palette map is using 4 color channel maps that every texture has. In Gimp you can select those in Channels window and paint them individually, this means that you can paint all 4 channels individually and the red, green, blue and alpha map can overlap each other and then create a cool results when you select the colors with color picker tool in OG.

How do you change the colour of the characters? When I select them and open the parameters menu (pressing u), changing the colour does nothing.

"CTRL, P" is the color parameter.Jakebob123 wrote:How do you change the colour of the characters? When I select them and open the parameters menu (pressing u), changing the colour does nothing.

Ctrl-shift-p is the palette editor for characters. Just ctrl-p toggles the character as a player character or not.akazi wrote:"CTRL, P" is the color parameter.Jakebob123 wrote:How do you change the colour of the characters?
