Revert your Overgrowth to previous beta by right clicking Overgrowth in your steam menu, go to properties, click beta programs, and set it to previous beta.
It still does nothing when I press F in-game. Just the usual laser death attacks.

My current project is a 9mm SMG. I drafted a bolt for it last night, but I need to refine the design and I need to get more of the materials for it as well. I bough tsome round stock that I'm going to chisel and file into the firing pin though. I think I might do that tonight actually.
I'm not decided on whether I should make my own rifling tool or just order a rifled barrel blank though.

So I was able to get the mod working via reverting to the previous alpha (a207) and some characters, not all of them but some become giant geometrical blobs. I tried deleting other mods but it seems like this one is the problem. Any way to fix this?

Try clearing out your local data cache and then rebooting the game. That might fix those skinning errors.
